Also, in order to set up the wireless audio receiver, you first connect it to your PC via a provided USB cable so that the software recognizes the receiver. After this is done, unplug the USB cable and use the audio receiver wirelessly.
Last, turn on the TV and your audio system. The PC should automatically show an image on your TV. The displaylink software on the PC allows several image adjustments. I found that the mirror function worked best for me.
Using either a Toshiba Satellite U205-S5044 Laptop PC, Sony VAIO VGC-RA826G Desktop PC, and a ( Westinghouse LVM-37w3 1080p LCD Monitor) and Onkyo TX-SR705 home theater receiver, both the video and audio came through as I had hoped.
However, one problem I encountered is that despite the 2GB RAM and 128MB video RAM available on my Toshiba Laptop and 2GB RAM and 256MB video RAM on my Sony desktop, I still did not have enough memory capacity to play a DVD and display the image on the HDTV at the same time. I could, however, display all of my other laptop functions and content, including photos and videos stored on my hard drive and directly streamed from online sources, such as You Tube and Hulu.
Provided a Laptop or Desktop has enough memory to run a large screen HDTV, IOGEAR Wireless USB Audio/Video Kit provides a way to integrate stored content on a PC or internet-streamed content into your home theater system. However, when playing a DVD on your PC DVD drive, you may encounter memory or driver issues.
