Guide Review - Verismo VuNow HD1000 Network Media Extender - Product Review
In addition, the VuNow HD1000 also has two USB ports for connection of up to two USB Flash Drives, or one Flash Drive and the Wireless Network adapter.
Although the VuNow HD1000 has a lot of capability, watching most YouTube and Internet TV content on an HDTV often leaves a lot to be desired. Compression artifacts make some videos unwatchable on a 32-inch or larger screen. On the other hand, there is an increasing amount of high-resolution content available on the internet, so this issue may resolve as time goes on.
I found listening to music and viewing still photos a much more satisfying experience. Being able to view 10 megapixel digital photos stored on my PC or via flash drive in 720p HD was great. In addition, being able to access internet radio stations, as well as audio files stored on a USB flash drive or my PC was very convenient.
In terms of setup, it takes a minute or so for the VuNow HD1000 to "reaccess" the network and the internet every time it is turned on. Once accessed, using the on-screen user interface and remote control, you can navigate your content sources very easily.
You don't have to be a "Geek" to use VuNow HD1000. This unit provides an easy way to "converge" internet and home theater content. The downside: Although fun and convenient to use, if you have a large screen TV, the video quality from many sources is not the greatest.
Despite some content quality issues, the VuNow HD1000 provides an innovative expansion of the home entertainment experience.
