Seagate is a familiar name as makers of hard drives used in PCs, DVRs, and DVD Recorder/Hard Drive Combos. Previously, I reviewed the FreeAgent Theater hard-drive based media player. Now, Seagate has introduced an upgraded model, dubbed the FreeAgent Theater+ that not only allows you to play back audio, video, still image files stored on specially designed portable hard drive, USB flash drives, and Digital Still cameras, but also adds full HD 1080p output capability via HDMI, as well as home networking and internet access via ethernet.
PCs used in this profile: Toshiba Satellite U205-S5044 Laptop PC, and Sony VAIO VGC-RA826G Desktop PC.
HDTVs used: Westinghouse LVM-37w3 1080p LCD Monitor and Toshiba 46SV670U LED/LCD TV (on review loan from Toshiba).
Home Theater Receiver used: Onkyo TX-SR705.
