1. Each analog video connection set has both a Composite and S-Video conenctions. The Video 1 input is on the left. Just to the right of the Video 1 input is the Video 2 In/Out lonnection loop. This can be used to connect a DVD recorder, VCR, or DVR to the receiver.
2. To the right of the Video 1 connection loop is set of video inputs labeled "DVD". These inputs can be used to connect a DVD player, or any other device that has a Composite or S-Video output connection (such as game system, Laserdisc player, etc...).
3. Moving right of the DVD input are the composite and S-Video monitor output connections. These connect to a television and enable the user to view the video sources connected to the composite and S-Video inputs on a television. In addition, to view the onscreen setup menus of the AVR147, either the composite or S-video monitor output must be connected to a television.
4. If you a have a DVD player, instead using the composite or S-video DVD input connection it is best to use one of the Component Video connections that are positioned to the right of composite and S-Video monitor outputs. There are two Component Video Inputs and one set of Component Video Outputs. Each input consists of a Red, Blue, and Green Connection. These inputs accommodate DVD players, and other devices The Component Video Output connects to a television with a Component Video Input.
