Pictured on this page is the same test illustrated in the previous photo, but this time, it shows the video output OPPO DV-980HD DVD Player when the player is connected directly to the television and set to 480p and using the HDMI connection. In aother words, the DVD player is doing the deinterlacing, rather than the Pioneer VXS-91TXH.
As you can see, the edges of the America Flag look much smoother than the previous photo. This indicates good 480i/480p conversion by the video processor built into the DVD player, as opposed to the video processor built into the Receiver.
