At the very top of the photo is the LED display, which displays the status of the functions listed below:

1. Starting on the top left is the Speaker Select Button (Speakers A or Speakers B).

2. Moving to the right, is the AM/FM Tuner selector. Moving right the A/B/C/D/E category button is used to set AM and FM channel presets.

5. Moving down, in the middle of the front panel, are the SCENE selection buttons. The SCENE buttons access preset or customized listening and viewing modes.

6. Moving down to the bottom row, on the left, is the Tone Control button. When the Tone Control button is pushed, the Program Selector, just to the right, can adjust the bass/treble characteristics for the front L/R channels. Moving towards the right, is the Program Selector. This dial accesses the various surround sound options for source that has been selected. When the Tone Control is not being used, the Program Selector functions to select the Digital Sound Field Programs (DSP), such as Classical, Live/Club, Entertainment (Game, Music Video), Movie (Spectacle, Sci-Fi, Adventure, Drama, and Mono Movie), and Stereo (2 Channel or 7 Channel). These soundfield are used to complete Dolby Digital, DTS, or Analog signal sources.

7. Next is the Straight/Effect button. This allows the user to bypass any selected surround sound audio processing program, if desired. The Pure Direct button and indicator is used to eliminate all audio processing and allow the user to listen to source, such as a two-channel CD signal in its purest form, as it originates from the source itself. When the Pure Direct function is activated, video signals are not passed or processed through the receiveer. The last in this series of buttons is the Audio Select Button. This allows the user to select what type of audio source is to be accessed for a specific input. The choices are: Auto Detect (default), HDMI, Coax/Optical, or Analog.

8. Moving further right is the Input Select dial. This allows the user to select the what source component they what to listen to.

9. Finally, on the far right, is the YPAO Optimizer Microphone Input. This is where you plug in the provided microphone in order to do the automatic speaker setup functions.

10. Most of the above controls are duplicated on the provided wireless remote control.
