The TV is everywhere in our households. Now, with the advent of new technologies, the TV has taken on a new identity in the form of the TV Combo. Although the TV combo concept has been with us for some time, the concept has evolved into an LCD form factor that include built-in DVD players. Such units are great for locations such as the office, dorm room, recreation room, kitchen, or bedroom. Check out my current favorites. The LCD TV side offers a large 46-inch screen, full 1920x1080 (1080p) native pixel resolution, excellent contrast ratio, and 120 Hz screen refresh rate. The included Blu-ray Disc playback section offers BD-Live access as well as DVD and CD compatibility. If that wasn't enough to grab you, the LC46BD80UN also has 4 additional HDMI inputs, a PC monitor input, and buit-in ATSC/QAM tuners for reception of both HD over-the-air and unscrambled cable channels. The LCD TV section features LED Edge-lighting for slimmer profile and better contrast, 1366x768 native pixel resolution (approx 720p), NTSC/ATSC/AQM tuners, and includes two HDMI and PC monitor inputs. There is also a gaming mode that reduces lag time between a game controller and the TV. The DVD/CD player is compatible with DVD/DVD-R/DVD-RW/CD/CD-R/CD-RW/VCD discs and also has digital optical output for optional home theater audio hookup. The 24V4210U combo features a compact high definition 24-inch LCD television with 1080p display resolution, LED Edge Lighting, and built-in ATSC/QAM tuner that can receive over-the-air digital TV broadcasts and unscrambled HD cable programming. Also featured is a built-in slot-loading progressive scan DVD player, plus HDMI and Component video inputs. You can also use this combo as a PC monitor via its VGA monitor input. However it is important to note that this combo does not have a standard composite video input. This unit is great for bedrooms, offices, or dorm room.
