At Comic-con 2007 Sony went all out with an impressive booth that showcased clips from upcoming Blu-ray movie releases. Also, Sony's three main Blu-ray Disc products: BDP-S300 standalone player, Playstation 3, and a Blu-ray equipped Vaio Notebook, were on display. There were also entry forms onhand for attendees to enter to win one of the featured Blu-ray products.
On the HD-DVD side of things, Rod Roddenberry, son of Gene Roddenberry, headlined a panel showcasing the upcoming release of the first season of the original Star Trek Series on HD-DVD. Original footage, updated special effects, and interactive menu features not previously available were shown.
In addition, one prominent DVD selling booth, Drunken Master (not to be confused with the movie of the same name), also had copies of The Host in both Blu-ray and HD-DVD, and the Japanese Blu-ray Release of Infernal Affairs (the inspiration for Martin Scorceses's The Departed), which is not available in the U.S., for sale.
