Pioneer BDP-95FD 480i/480p Deinterlacing/1080p Scaling Tests For Standard DVDs

Screen grabs illustrating 480i/480p Deinterlacing/1080p Scaling of the BDP-95FD

From Robert Silva, About.com

The following tests were conducted with an OPPO Digital BDP-95FD Blu-ray Disc player using the HDMI output connected directly to a Westinghouse LVM-37w3 37-inch LCD television with 1080p native resolution. The Blu-ray Disc player was set for 1080p output so that the test results reflected the video processing performance of the BDP-95FD with regards to standard DVD playback upscaling. The test results are shown as measured by the Silicon Optix HQV DVD Benchmark Disc.

Screen grabs in this gallery were obtained using a Sony DSC-R1 Digital Still Camera.

For more details on how these tests are conducted and how to interpret the results, check out the Silicon Optix HQV DVD Benchmark Test Scoring Document.
