LG RC897T DVD Recorder/VCR Combination - Product Review
The LG RC897T DVD recorder/VCR combo records and plays most DVD formats. The VCR section allows direct recording to VHS or dubbing of non-copyprotected video content from VHS to DVD or DVD to VHS. The HDMI output and video upscaling makes the RC897T a good match for HDTVs. This unit has analog and DV video inputs, a USB input for digital images and music, and a built-in ATSC tuner to comply with the DTV transition. Toshiba XD-E500 Upscaling DVD Player - Review
Toshiba XD-E500 - With the demise of HD-DVD, Toshiba is now focused on improving DVD upscaling. With improved 1080p video upscaling capability over previous Toshiba upscaling DVD players, the XD-E500 delivers a very good picture on an HDTV. In addition, the user also has some control over sharpness, color, and contrast, which compensate for variations in DVD source quality. The Toshiba XD-E500 does provide good viewing of DVDs, but is not the breakthrough that its marketing materials suggest.
OPPO Digital DV-983H DVD Player with HDMI Output and Anchor Bay VRS Processing
The OPPO DV-983H is a feature-packed DVD player that delivers what it promises. HDMI connectivity and upscaling using Anchor Bay VRS technology, enables the DV-983H to deliver an excellent picture on an HDTV. In addition, other features, such as SACD and DVD-Audio playback, as well as a rear mounted USB port for importing images and sound from flash drives, add great audio and video flexibility. The OPPO DV-983H takes DVD player performance to the highest level.

If you are looking for a new DVD player to use with that new flat panel HDTV and surround sound system, check this one out.
Pioneer DVR-233-S Entry Level DVD Recorder - Short Review
If you are looking for solid entry level DVD recorder, check out the Pioneer DVR-233S. Features include DVD-R/-RW recording. Inputs include composite and S-video. Outputs include composite, S-video, and component video (both interlaced and progressive scan), as well as including both analog and digital audio outputs. Pioneer DV-490V-S DVD Player with HDMI Output
The Pioneer DV-490V-S is a great basic DVD player, offering not only CD and DVD playback, but, with its HDMI output, you can take advantage of the increased capabilities of an HDTV. In addition, other useful features, such as its JPEG/MP3 Slideshow function, as well as Divx file playback, make the DV-490V-S a great deal for $99. For additional details, check out my review.
OPPO Digital DV-970HD DVD Player with HDMI output and SACD/DVD-Audio Playback
The OPPO DV-970HD is a DVD player that will upconvert signal output to either 720p/1080i via its HDMI output. If you own an HD-compatible TV with HDMI (or DVI) input, you can watch DVDs in higher resolution. This works well with Plasma/LCD monitors and DLP video projectors. This unit has all video outputs and features you would expect, and then some, including: CD/CDR/CDRW/MP3/JPG playback and the addition of DVD-Audio, SACD, and DIVX playback. Pioneer Elite DV-46AV DVD/SACD/DVD-Audio Player with HDMI - Review
The Pioneer Elite DV-46AV, in addition to Standard DVD, SACD (Super Audio CD) and DVD-Audio playback, also has the ability to play CDR/RW, MP3-CDs, and DVD-R/DVD-RW discs as outputting a progressive scan video signal and 720p/1080i upscaling via its HDMI output. The DV-46AV, with its excellent DVD/SACD/DVD-Audio and Upscaled DVD playback performance, is worthy of consideraton for inclusion in your home theater system.
Presidian PDR-3222 Entry-Level DVD Recorder
The Presidian PDR-3222 is a DVD Recorder, sold primarily through Radio Shack, that offers multi-format DVD recording at an extremely low price point. Although the PDR-3222 doesn't offer many of the more advanced features and conveniences of higher-end, name-brand, units - it still offers some good benefits for someone looking for a very basic DVD recorder. JVC XV-NP10S Progressive Scan DVD Player - Region Code Free Version - Review
The JVC XV-NP10S is a great basic DVD player, offering not only CD and DVD playback, but, with its memory card reader you can also play back your favorite digital camera photos. However, in its Region Code Free version with it built-in PAL-to-NTSC converter, this DVD player also becomes very practical for those that have the need for a unit that will play back any commercial DVD from any region of the world on an NTSC television.
