Probably the most demanding deinterlacing test is how a video processor can handle a waving American Flag. If the flag is jagged, the 480i/480p conversion is considered below average. As you can see here, the interior stripes of the flag appear very smooth, and the edges of the flag are only slightly blurred (due to the camera's shutter), but not jagged. This result indicates very good deinterlacing (480i/480p conversion) and 1080p scaling capability by the OPPO Digital DV-983H.
By referring to the previous photo, and proceeding to the next two photos, in this gallery you will see the results with regards to the differing postition of the flag as it waves. As shown, the frames show very smooth stripes and the edges of the flag are not noticeably jagged. These results are considered to be very good to excellent.
