1. You spend more money on your home theater every year than your Mortgage or Rent.
2. You spend more than $50 a week on DVD, Blu-ray, and/or HD-DVD discs.
3. You spend Tuesdays at your local retailer to pick up the latest DVD, or Blu-ray releases.
4. You own both a Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD Player, and you also own at least one Region Code Free DVD Player (with upscaling capability of course!).
5. You still have a closet full of Laserdiscs and at least one operational Laserdisc player.
6. You still have a working BETA HiFi VCR.
7. You still have an extensive collection of VHS and BETA movie tapes
8. You have a DVD player and TV in every room of the house.
9. You buy a new Home Theater Receiver every year just because you keep running out of inputs.
10. You have a garage full of old speakers, amplifiers, and receivers.
11. When it is time to replace the bulb in your video projector, you buy a new video projector instead.
12. You plan your vacation around checking out home theater dealers.
13. You built, or purchased a house, with a home theater room as your first priority.
14. Your home theater room really does look like a movie theater.
15. You have a full-size popcorn machine and soda fountain in your home theater room.
If you find that you exhibit some of the symptoms on the above list you may have a home theater addiction.
NOTE: The inspiration for this article was the result of my friends pointing out my own home theater addiction. However, I have no plans to give it up - it is too much fun!
