4K refers to one of two high definition resolutions: 3840 x 2160 pixels or 4096 x 2160 pixels. 4K is four times the high definition resolution of 1080p (1920x1080 pixels) that one of the current consumer high definition resolution standards. Other terms used to refer to 4K are 4K x 2K and Quad High Definition.
