With the ZVOX 325, it is a simple matter of unboxing it, plugging in the power, connecting your audio source, and turning it on - total time, less than 10 minutes from box to surround sound.The ZVOX 325 has two analog mini-jack audio connectors, one in back and one in front. These connect any audio source that has a mini-headphone jack output. You can also use the provided adapter cable to connect the analog RCA audio outputs from a DVD player.
There are only 4 settings: Auto on/off, Subwoofer level (which on the back), Phase Cue (which adjusts the degree of the surround sound effect), and Volume level.
I found that the ZVOX 325 delivered very good sound for a small package. The mid-range was distinctive, bass was deeper than I expected, however, the highs were not as smooth as you would find on more advanced system. Overall, the surround imaging was very effective, especially since it is adjustable to your taste.
Although the ZVOX325 is not a replacement for a true multi-speaker system in a large home theater room, for the novice it is a great option for a basic surround sound system. It can also be used by anyone as a second system for a small room. It is also sturdy enough to put under a small TV. The 325 also makes a good combination with a DVD player or Laptop computer, and video projector as part of a classroom or business presentation.
However, some features that could be added, would include a digital audio connection, and built-in tone and equalizer controls.
