iPod
The iPod dock allows for the connection of a variety of iPod types, and the GEORGE includes several iPod docking inserts. When the iPod is inserted into the dock, all iPod control functions and the actual iPod display information is transfered directly to the GEORGE's front panel control display. The iPod can be easily navigated using the control buttons on the GEORGE. In addition, since the GEORGE's front panel control is a also detachable (which you will see in subsequent photos), iPod functions can be controlled from anywhere in the room.
Radio Functions
The AM/FM tuner has 24 presets total, which is less than many compact audio systems, which usually include 30 or 40.
Although the quality of AM/FM reception can vary, due to geographical factors, I found that the AM/FM tunability and listening quality was on par with the AM/AM tuners available on my other stereo and home theater receivers.
Clock and Alarm Features
Also included is a built-in clock, which includes 2 alarms, a Nap timer, Sleep Timer, and a useful One-time Alarm for those days when you need to wake up for the occassional early-morning appointment.
One disappointment, especially for a compact audio system at this price level, was the exclusion of a built-in CD player, or XM and/or Sirius Satellite Radio connection.
