The BH200 not only includes full access to interactive features ( HDi and BD-Java ) on both Blu-ray and HD-DVD discs, but also provides selectable 1080p/24, 30 or 60 video output and Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD audio output. Also featured is a HDMI 1.3 video output, and a LAN Ethernet port for advanced internet features and firmware updates. The BH200 is expected to become available in October with a price tag of $999.
This is a significant chapter in the continuing battle between the Blu-ray and HD-DVD formats. However, LG's BH200 is not the only Blu-ray/HD-DVD combo player to available soon, Samsung has showed off its own fully-functional combo player this year's CEDIA EXPO, the BD-UP5000, which also be available later this year for $999.
