Here it is, the long awaited Samsung Blu-ray and HD-DVD combo play finally arrived on U.S. shores and made its way to Denver, Colorado just in time for the CEDIA EXPO.
The BD-UP5000 Duo HD Player is one of three new high-def disc players in Samsung's lineup. The BD-UP5000 is essentially the same as the BD-P2400 Blu-ray only player, including built-in Silicon Option HQV processing, but the also adds both Blu-ray and HD-DVD format compatibilty inluding full support for their interactive technologies, HDi and BD-Java.
The Samsung BD-UP5000 will be available later this year at a suggested price of $999.
