One of the distinctive parts of Sony's CEDIA 2007 booth was the display of its new high-end video projector, the VPL-VW200. Utilizing the same basic form factor as its popular VPL-VW50 and VPL-VW100 projectors, it has a pleasing look, despite its large size.
Inside the large cabinet, this projector houses three SXRD panels (a derivative of LCD technology) featuring a native 1080p resolution and 120HZ refresh rate. In addition, Sony claims the VW200 can deliver up to a 35,000:1 contrast ratio. This projector also features full HDMI 1.3 connectivity with X.V. Color capability as well a network connectivity for accessing images or video from a PC or other networked source.
However, this projector is not for the budget-minded as it will carry a price tag of $15,000 when it becomes available later this year.
