One my favorite stops at both CES and CEDIA every year is the D-Box booth. Dbox has developed motion simulator technology for both home theater and commercial use. In brief, D-Box employs a motion controller and actuators that are tied into pre-programmed motion cues on a CD, Hard Drive, and, now some Blu-ray Discs from Fox and Disney which contain D-Box Motion Codes. If the user has a D-Box motion controller, it can tell the motion acutators to move in accordance with the preprogrammed cues. The user will experience the actual motion and tactile sensations, such as road bumps, explosions, impacts, the yaw and pitch of riding in a vehicle or plane, and even the sensation of floating on water.

D-Box offers several types of motion actuator devices:

1. A platform that can be placed under any chair or couch.

2. A comfortable home theater chair that has built-in actuators.

3. A "cockpit" type chair for gaming use.

Check out the next page in this gallery for a photos D-Box Gaming system in action.
