As a result, Mitsubishi is taking a stand on improving the built-in audio quality of its flat panel televisions. At this year's CEDIA, Mitsubishi demonstrated its new Immersive Sound technology that it is employing on some of their sets.
Using the technology now being employed by Yamaha in its popular Digital Sound Projectors (which is licensed from 1 Limited), Mitsubishi demonstrated how this technology can be incorporated within a television frame. The demonstration was actually quite impressive, creating both a wide surround field as well as distinct separation of dialog and effects audio.
