This year’s CEDIA Expo, a trade show for home theater installers and high-end dealers, was the best I have been to, showcasing an abundance of innovative products. Held in Denver from Sept. 3-7, CEDIA Expo 2008 featured two things that made me wish I’d win the lottery -- a two-channel audio system from piano manufacturer Steinway-Lyngdorf, and a $185,000 video projector from Meridian with a 10-megapixel resolution.
The biggest disappointment was the slightly lower attendance from last year. A lot of discussion on the floor revolved around how dealers and installers should adjust sales strategies to cope with the changing economic landscape.
To learn more about Steinway-Lyngdorf’s audio system, the Meridian projector, and my eight other favorite products from CEDIA (which stands for the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association), check out the photos in this gallery.
