Although there were a lot high-end home theater components on display at CES this year, there were also a selection of mid-range components well. A good example of this was Yamaha's RX-V1500. With an a MSRP of $849, this unit has everything most consumers need an AV receiver. Its features include a 7 channel amplifier that can supply 120 WPC with .04% THD across all frequencies, video upconversion for composite and S-video to component video, THX Select audio processing, and automatic acoustic setup optimization utlizing a supplied microphone.

The RX-V1500 looks like a great value in both sound quality and features in the under-$1,000 price category. Pictured above are both the front and rear panels of the unit.
