For those of you that can't want for the high definition DVD format war determine to what format consumer will end up with to play and record in HD, you might want to consider a D-VHS VCR. JVC, the inventor of VHS, has been pushing its D-VHS high definition VCR format, which allows both playback of pre-recorded D-Theater high definition VHS tapes as well as the ability to record HD content. The above photo shows its new HM-DH5U on display at CES, which features M-PEG2 encoding and both progressive scan component and HDMI interfaces.
