Now that Blu-ray has been around for a while and is very solidified in the market, there weren't any ground-breaking innovations, except for more network-enabled and 3D enabled players. It must also be noted that all Blu-ray Disc players manufactured and destined for the U.S. market must now conform to the Analog Sunset Rule, which places restrictions on 720p, 1080i, and 1080p output resolutions using component video connections for Blu-ray Disc playback. However, Samsung did show off some interesting Blu-ray Disc player designs for the coming year.

First up is the BD-D7000 Blu-ray Cube player shown in the above photo. This player is about the size of a small hard cover or large paper back book, but has all the features of a full size player, including 2D and 3D Blu-ray Disc (with 2D to 3D conversion capability), DVD, and CD playback, as well as network media player functions via built-in Wi-Fi. Also, instead of a disc loading drawer, it features front loading slot. There was no pricing or availability information, but the BD-D7000 does look pretty cool.

Samsung also showed off a new Home Theater Receiver with built-in Blu-ray Disc player and its latest wall-mountable slim design Blu-ray Disc player that is only 23mm thick. Both Home Theater Receiver/Blu-ray Disc Player combo and Slim Blu-ray Disc player feature 2D/3D Blu-ray Disc (with 2D to 3D conversion), DVD, and CD playback, as well as network media player functions and Wi-Fi.
