What I Liked About the LT2007
2: Great Styling - I can't say enough about the styling. With its smooth lines and white color, this the LT-2007 can complement just about any room decor.
3: The LT-2007 is very easy to use and set up. At its most basic, you can just plug it in, turn-it on, press the DVD player eject button, and load your DVD in a press play.
4: The Innovative Slot-Loading DVD Player is a lot of fun. You will find that no DVD loading try actually pops out of this unit. Instead, when you press the eject button on the player or the remote, the word open will be displayed in the top let corner of the screen. Then, just gently place your DVD in the then horizontal slot and the DVD player will grab the DVD and load it.
By the same token, when you are finished viewing your DVD and press the eject button, no tray pops out, your DVD just "magically" slides out.
6: The provided Digital Camera card reader worked very well. When you switch from DVD to Card, using the LT-2007's remote, you get access to a menu that allows you to access a variety of memory card types. You also get access to a series of playback options, such as Slide Show, Thumbnail, Rotate, Mirror, and more. In addition, no matter what the resolution of the actual image is, the LT-2007 scales the image so that it will fit within the 800x600 pixel field of the TV screen.
What I Didn't Like About the LT-2007
Although there is a lot to like about LT-2007, I did find some aspects that could be changed or improved:
1: No LED Status Display. Although the LT-2007 is very stylish, it would have been nice to include some sort of minimal LED display instead of having to view DVD status information on the screen itself.
3: Remote Control Not Backlit. Although the Remote Control is quite extensive and allows complete control of both the TV and DVD player functions, it would be nice if it was also backlit to make it easier to use in dark rooms.
4: In order to maintain stylishness, minimize the size of the television base, and minimize interference with the video and audio circuitry, the the LT-2007 employs an External Power Supply, which adds to amount of clutter on the floor.
5: No front-panel Audio/Video inputs. Including this feature would have made it easier to connect camcorders and game consoles.
6: 4x3 Aspect Ratio Screen. This is not really an issue of dislike, especially for a unit that has a 20-inch screen. The reason I include this comment here is that I think that it would be great to include the same basic concept in a larger 23-inch or 26-inch screen size unit, with a 16x9 aspect ratio, 1366x768 native pixel resolution, and a built-in upscaling DVD player.
Final Take
The OPPO Digital LT-2007 is a great example of the blending of form and function. Its 800x600 native pixel resolution delivers a surprisingly good image from its built-in progressive scan DVD player, and with an abundance of connection options, the LT-2007 can be used in both an home entertainment or PC environment. However, its built-in audio system is a little weak.
Overall, if you are looking a flexible, compact, and stylish LCD-TV/DVD Player combo for your Office, Bedroom, Dorm Room, or Children's room, then definitely consider the LT-2007 as a option. I give the OPPO Digital LT-2007 TV/DVD Combination 4.5 out of 5 Stars.
