Guide Review - Syntax Olevia LT32HV 32-Inch HD-Compatible LCD Television
This unit also has a great sounding internal speaker system; I especially like the line output for an added powered subwoofer. I found the three backlight settings enabled optimum screen brightness in a variety of ambient light environments.
The LT32HV offers good progressive scan performance; HD performance via DVI input is impressive. The color is excellent, with no overblown reds when using S-Video, Component, or DVI-inputs. In addition, I found the picture contrast and brightness to be very good for an LCD set.
The onscreen menu functions are easy to navigate - great PIP/split screen/POP.
The video performance on poor signal feeds, such as broadcast/cable reception or standard VHS input is lackluster, when compared to a CRT set, but better than some other LCD TVs I have seen. Also, the Zoom function only has one setting. Having a variable zoom control would allow greater flexibility in adjusting 4x3 and letterboxed images to fit the 16x9 screen.
Overall, the LT32HV is offers an excellent price/value ratio with its combination of useful features and performance. The LT32HV represents the strides being made in LCD TV. If you are considering a new TV purchase, definitely check out the LT32HV.
