Pictured on this page is one of the tests used by the Silicon Optix HQV DVD Benchmark test disc to measure the capabilites of the DVD players, HDTVs, and Video Projectors.

In this case the test results illustrates how well the MovieMate 72 performs deinterlacing. If this projector does a poor job of deinterlacing, then the flag will appear to have jagged edges as it flaps. However, as you can see in two actual screen grabs of the test disc being used in the Moviemate 72, the flag actually has fairly smooth edges. Based on this result, the MovieMate 72 does fairly good job of deinterlacing the incoming image so as to present it accurately in motion without artifacts.

The photos taken with Sony R1 Digital Camera at an original pixel resolution of 10 Megapixels - in the JPEG format. They were then cut and pasted together into a single frame using Adobe Photoshop Elements. The only other change to the photos were that a slight variation of brightness between the two original photos was adjusted for this posting.
