Pictured on this page are the audio and video connections of the NEC NP4001, located on the left side of the projector looking from the rear.

Starting with the top left is the LAN (Ethernet) Connection. This connection allows the projectcor to access network content. Just to the right of the LAN connection is a USB port that is used for service, such as firmware or diagnostics.

Moving down, and to the left, on the next row is a standard PC monitor VGA input, which an associated mini-jack audio input. On the right side of this row is VGA and audio output connection. This is great for computer games or business presentations originating from a laptop or PC.

Moving down to the next row are BNC connections that can accommodate Component or RGB video with horizontal and vertical sync signals. These are referred to as RBGHV connections. In addition, there is another audio input. On the far right of this row is a connection for a wired remote option.

Moving to the right is the DVI connection. This connection can be used for connecting a DVI monitor output from a PC or a DVI output from a video source equipped with a DVI output. You can connect an HDMI source to this connection using an HDMI/DVI adapter cable or connector. Just below the DVI input is a mini-jack audio input connection that is associated with the DVI input.

Moving down to the next row, on the left are the HD-Component connections. This connection is represented by separate Green, Blue, and Red Cables and is the most common connection used by standard DVD players, but can also be used by Blu-ray and HD-DVD players. These connections can transfer either standard or high definition Interlaced or Progressive Scan signals. To right of the component video connections are two analog stereo input connections.

Just below HD-Component video inputs are the Composite Video S-Video inputs for standard resolution analog video.

Any standard video source, except RF sources, can be connected to this projector.

To the right of the component and analog video connections is RS232C Serial Cable Connection. This connection allows functions to be controlled via a PC. This is a very practical connection option for use in business or educational presentations where the presenter is some distance away from the video projector itself.

Lastly, of course, is the AC power receptacle and master power switch.

The audio input connections are not used, or needed, in home theater applications.
