The next series of photos represent of a sampling of video processing tests that were conducted with an LG BH100 Blu-ray/HD-DVD/DVD player using the component viodeo output connected directly to the Viewsonic Precision Pro8100 video projector via component video outputs. The LG BH100 player was set for 480i output so that the test results reflected the video processing performance of the Pro8100 projector. The test results are shown as measured by the Silicon Optix HQV DVD Benchmark Disc.

Screen grabs in this gallery were obtained using a Sony DSC-R1 Digital Still Camera.

For more details on how these tests are conducted and how to interpret the results, check ou the Silicon Optix HQV DVD Benchmark Test Scoring Document.

Pictured on this page is one of the test results. In this test, a diagonal bar moves in a 360 degree motion. In order to pass this test, the rotating bar needs to be straight, or show minimal wrinkling or jaggedness, as it passes through the red, yellow, and green zones of the circle. As you can see, as shown in this photo, the Viewsonic Precision Pro8100 shows no jagginess as it passes through the zones. This result is considered an excellent example of "passing the test".
