Do you enjoy your home theater system? Of course you do! It is easy to get caught up in the latest in HDTV, surround sound, gadgets, and movies on DVD. However, when does periodic enjoyment of your home theater system begin to turn into an all-out addiction? If you find your home theater habit is taking up a lot of time, money, and space, you may be addicted. Share your experiences. Share Your Addiction

Sad about Guest wife/mom

It's really bad when an addiction to electronics then triggers negative spending patterns that get in the way of other things that the family needs. It IS good though that at least he goes to the library sometimes to satisfy his movie "fix". Maybe it would help to encourage him if you point out how positive things like that are... and simultaneously work with him on coming up with similarly free (or at least cheaper) solutions to his electronics cravings?

My husband is addicted to electronics

My husband has many many regular dvds blu- ray dvds and Hd dvds he also has an hd dvd player a ps3 with a built in blue ray player and a dvd player that plays all regin dvds on it. He also has a 47 inch 1080p it had to be 1080p flat screen tv and the electronic buying continues to grow. He will go to walmart or kmart or somewhere and buy dvds and then head out right after he leaves the store to rent even more dvds. He can't stand not getting at least one dvd a week and if we don't have the money he will get movies from the library. He is now talking about spending like 200 dollars on a new cell phone. I don't know what to do but the bills are piling and so are the electronics.
