Samsung Unveils LCD TV With 240Hz Refresh Rate
Tuesday May 20, 2008
As flat panel televisions become an integral part of our entertainment experience, technological advances have resulted in big leaps in performance since their introduction about a decade ago. The latest technological leap comes from Samsung, which has announced the development of an LCD television prototype with a 240Hz screen refresh rate. As a point of reference, most current LCD televisions in use have a 60Hz screen refresh rate, while some newer sets have a 120Hz screen refresh rate. What all this means for the consumer is that the image looks better the faster the screen can refresh itself. This is especially important for viewing fast moving objects. To find out more on this breakthrough, and when you might see it in your next LCD television, check out the report from Electronic House.
