Coming it at $5,000 less than Sony's set, the LG set not only packs in 4K display resolution, but both 2D and 3D viewing options (passive system), 240Hz refresh rate, LED edge light with a local dimming feature, and, of course, it is also a Smart TV with access to an abundance of of internet and network based content.
If you live in the Los Angeles area, and you are curious about how this set actually looks, it may be worth your time to drive to Lawndale and check it out. On the other hand, those of you who live outside of Southern California, it looks like you will just have to wait a little bit longer, but Ultra HD is on the way - at least that is more than I can say about OLED right now.
