With that in mind, Cyberlink has announced its latest version of its widely used PowerDVD software, PowerDVD 13.
PowerDVD 13 provides more efficient Blu-ray and DVD playback, with faster disc startup time, as well as enhanced video upscaling and processing (referred to as TruTheater) to get the best viewing results. In addition, the video processing enhances hard drive, internet streaming, and content accessed from DLNA-compatible components as well.
Also, when playing video files from sources other than DVD, Blu-ray, or streamed content, PowerDVD 13 is compatible with a variety of formats, including AVCHD 2.0, MKV, and is even 4K and 3D compatible (including on-the-fly 2D-to-3D conversion).
So, if you prefer to play back DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, and streaming content on your PC, but want to view it on your TV or video projector, and experience full surround through your home theater system (provided you also have the proper physical or network connectivity between your home theater components and your PC) then one of CyberLink's new PowerDVD 13 products might be just the software upgrade you need.
As a complement to PowerDVD 13, CyberLink is also making PowerDVD Mobile available, which provides added video and audio support when accessing or playing content on portable devices. It is compatible with both Android and iOS, as well as the Windows 8 operating system. In fact, with PowerDVD 13 and PowerDVD mobile, Cyberlink brings both MKV video and DTS audio compatibility to Windows 8.
There are three versions Cyberlink PowerDVD 13, each having slightly different system requirements and providing different playback capabilities.
