Continuing with its high-tech TV roll-out, LG is indicating that it will soon release two more 4K Ultra HD TVs, the 55-inch 55LA9650 and the 65-inch 65LA9650. What makes these two new sets different from LG's current 55 and 65LA9700 series is that they will have a less-sleek bezel design, a 2.1, rather than 4.1 channel built-in audio system, will not feature a built-in camera, and, best of all, be priced less.
The 65LA9650 will be priced at 6,999 and the 55LA9650 will carry a price $4,999, making the new sets $1,000 less than LG's current LA9700 series. The prices may still be perceived to be high by many consumers - but they are definitely moving in the right direction.
There is no word as to the exact date of availability, but if LG follows its current pace of OLED and 4K Ultra HD roll outs, the 9650 series (if that model designation is retained) will probably become available in Korea first before being distributed to other markets, including the U.S.
