Audio Performance - SAT750 Satellite Speakers
On the other hand, although the SAT750's do a great job with most surround sound effects and ambience sound, due to their compact size, they don't provide as much depth in lower midrange frequencies, which may be noticed on more full-bodied surround tracks.
Audio Performance - SUB750
Infinity TSS-SUB750 10-inch Powered Subwoofer - Rear Panel View
Photo (c) Robert Silva - Licensed to About.comIn terms of subwoofer performance, the SUB750 was up to challenge of Transformers (HD-DVD) and Alien vs Predator (Blu-ray). In addition, did fair-to-good with the intentionally exaggerated LFE effects in Hot Fuzz, and the hard-to-reproduce low frequency bass slide on Heart's Magic Man.
The SUB750 is certainly not the best subwoofer I have heard, and did not do as well as my Klipsch Synergy Sub10 with regards to low frequency output, but did very well in keeping its bass response tight and well-blended with the rest of the system.
What I Liked
1. The TSS system provided great sound quality for both music and movies. However, due to their compact size, they are best suited for small and medium size rooms.
3. This system is easy to place in a room. With the compact size of the speakers and subwoofer, these speakers are very unobtrusive and do not dominate a room.
4. The TSS speakers were easy and quick to set up. From box to sound for the entire system only takes about 20 minutes, provided you have already decided where to place them in the room..
5. The optional stands are very easy to assemble, and are also very stylish.
6. Wall Mounting hardware supplies with the TSS 3-in-1 and SAT750 speakers. Table mount supplied with the 3-in-1. Optional floor stands available for the SAT750 satellite speakers.
What I Didn't Like
1. Surround speakers need better low midrange frequency response.
2. The TSS speakers sound better in smaller room environments.
3. There are limited control settings on Subwoofer.
4. The Subwoofer has line level inputs only.
5. There are no provisions for adding a second subwoofer for better low frequency coverage in larger room setting.
Final Take
As mentioned in my review introduction, balancing style, price, and sound quality can be a tough choice, when choosing loudspeakers. If you are looking for new set of loudspeakers that would be great complement for an LCD or Plasma TV, then check out the stylish, compact, and great sounding TSS Loudspeakers from Infinity.
Infinity TSS 5.1 Channel Speaker System Using The 3-in-1, 2 SAT750s, and SUB750
Photo (c) Robert Silva - Licensed to About.comThe TSS 3-in-1 provided a good sound and surround sound image. The SAT750s, although not a full bodied as the 3-in-1, actually sounded well considering their size, and added depth to surround sound tracks. I am just more used to a fuller sounding surround speaker. The SUB750 powered subwoofer was very good for its size. The bass response blended well with the rest of the system.
The TSS speakers used in this system are definitely well-engineered to produced quality sound from a compact product. As such, these are not cheaply priced. However, if you are considering a home theater speaker system purchase, the TSS speakers from Infinity are definitely worth a listen, and worth the their price tag, if style and compactness are major factors in your choice.
I give the TSS Home Theater System featuring the TSS 3-in-1, SAT750, and SUB750 a strong 4.5 out of 5 Stars.
