From Robert Silva, About.com

In a packed Pre-CES news conference, LG announced that it is the first manufacturer to release a Blu-ray/HD-DVD Combo Player.

The BH100 features Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD playback at 1080p using a single drive, as well as 1080i upscaling of standard DVD content. However, the BH100 does not play standard music CDs, and cannot access some of the interactive and internet features on HD-DVD discs.

The disc loading time for Blu-ray and HD-DVD discs has been reduced to about 25 seconds, making the BH100 the fastest loader to date. The BH100 also has both HDMI and HD-Component outputs, as well as digital optical, digital coaxial, and analog 5.1 channel audio outputs.

The best news of all, however, is the $1,199 price point, which is less than some Blu-ray Disc-only players. Reported from the Annual CES (Consumer Electronics Show) by Robert Silva, About.com Home Theater Guide. Photo (c) 2007 Robert Silva - Licensed to About.com.
