The LED indicator closest to the top left of the photo is the Standby/On indicator. When the master power switch (on the rear of the projector - not pictured) is switched to ON, this indicator lights up Red. Then, by pressing the Power Button on the top of the projector (pictured just below the Standby/On indicator) the Standby/Indicator changes to Green and the projector warms up. When the Panasonic Logo appears on the projection screen, the PT-AX100U is ready for use.
The other two LED indicators shown at the top of this photo are the Lamp and Temp indicators. These indicators show the status of the Lamp and Temperature of the Projector. Different flashing patterns may indicate a problem with the projector's lamp or temperature status and are explained on Page 36 of the PT-AX100U user manual.
Just below the power button is the Input Select button. Although the PT-AX100U has the ability to automatically detect what component is on and connected to it, the user also has the option of selecting the proper input via this button. A graphic image appears on the screen showing what iput is being selected.
To the right of the Input Select button are the Menu Access and Menu Navigation buttons. These buttons enable the user to access basic setup functions, picture adjustment functions, and status functions. A very practical feature that is accessible are the test patterns, which enable the user to confirm the focus and alignment of the image on the screen.
Lastly, above the Menu Navigation buttons you notice a large dot. This is not a defect in the photo. The dot is a the Light Harmonizer sensor. This useful function automatically adjusts the light output of the projector in accordance to the amount of light present in the room. It must be noted that it is always best to view a projector in a darkened room. However, if there is some ambient light present, or if you are using the PT-AX100U in partially lighted conference room, the Light Harmonizer will make the best light output adjustment available to get a good, viewable, image.
